Radios used in Atlantis

Ok well I'm in a quandry here. Ya see I'm a little confused about the Atlantis radios. I know they used the visor in sg1. And I saw a pic from the first atlantis ep where they seem to be using them too. You can see the airiel poking through the LEFT side of the vest pocket. I have also seen the visor used in shots when there equipment is being looked over after they've been captured.

However most shots with the vest involved show a stubby arieal through a hole in the RIGHT side of the vest pocket. Does anyone know what the story is there.

I have a midland radio to get the stubby airial effect. But just wondered if anyone knew what they used

Re: Radios used in Atlantis

SG-1 used the Visar untill they switched around Season 8 to the Motorola CLS 1110.

Atlantis used the Visar radios, but it has a funky in house made antenna we have yet to replicate correctly... The radios seem to come and go as needed and often the radio suddenly was a C4 detonator as well. We have one special picture we managed to get of it. Very few have seen this!

Re: Radios used in Atlantis

That's what confused me early, was the folded over antenna. And I later realised that it was the visar on/off volume switch that was poking through the right side of the vest pocket.

I now have both the visar and cls1110 for my costumes

We always felt the radio was on its side and the tip antenna was sticking up starting from the bottom. I never been able to get radio in there correctly, still trying to find way to make that swivel! :?:
