Re: Heath Ledger dead

How many of you remember him in the short-lived Fox historical fantasy series Roar?

Very tragic news indeed. :(

Re: Heath Ledger dead

I was very shocked to hear the news about his death... very sad, especially for the family he left behind.

Re: Heath Ledger dead

I remember Roar, Paradine! Me and the kids LOVED that show, even though it was brief.

This man was so talented. That is what I hate the most, so much to offer and do still with his life and career. He already had one Academy Award nom and I have no doubt he would have had another one.

I think they did finish filming the new Batman movie though (he plays The Joker).

To be honest, I was quite surprised. If you think about it, how long has it been since we heard about a death like this? I mean there was River Phoenix, Kobain in the 80/90s, but I cant think of any for several years...But then again, I don't follow the gossip columns.

Re: Heath Ledger dead

There haven't been any lately like this, an actor without a bad reputation who was known for partying and being irresponsible. I don't follow the gossip columns either, but they seem to be full of female celebrities with mental issues and dependency problems.

Re: Heath Ledger dead

"The Dark Knight" is supposed to be out in July... at least this Summer. His portrayal of the Joker is supposed to be more darker & deprived than Jack Nicholson's.

Logan, I agree that Roar was a good & interesting series, albeit a little historically anachronistic. The Romans thought about invading Ireland but never did.

Re: Heath Ledger dead

Yes, I read that too. It is looking like an accidental death.

I am watching A Knight's Tale right now!

Nah, that was Paul Walker... the same person from Fast & Furious. The movie you're thinking of is called Timeline.

Re: Heath Ledger dead

There was that one he did where he was a priest. Can't remember the name of it but saw it on FX yesterday.

Was watching MSNBC and they mentioned all the prescription drugs he was taking, some of which was prescribed while in Europe. I recognized a lot.. well duh, I work in a pharmacy.. but they are usually prescribed for depression and anxiety.

Also, the Batman movie is done but they say that they may tweak some scenes for some reason or another. I saw clips of it and was like, woah, creepy as hell. But I still love Jack as Joker!

Re: Heath Ledger dead

He will definitely be missed. So is the consensus that he died from stress and prescription meds? There is no way I would want all the stress associated with being and actor. The paparazzi alone would drive you to drink.
