Re: Your Top 10 Sci-Fi / Fantasy Movies or Series

No particular order here, save for 1-3

1- Star Wars ( Ep 4-6, George Lucas owes me money for the prequels)
2- Stargate ( movie is best, SG-1 and spin-offs close behind)
3- Dresden Files ( books and sadly shortlived TV Series...damn, you, SyFy!)
4- Greystoke: Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes ( I love Tarzan, have since I was a kid. We can just throw the old black and white Tarzan movies here as well "Me, Tarzan! You, Jane!"...classic. )
5- Star Trek (original series, may it live long and prosper. Enterprise is my favorite spin-off. Favorite movie: Wrath of Khan, hands down.)
6- Highlander ( swords and swordplay, immortals battling to the death to claim the Prize...lots of lightning, but it pretty much went downhill after the first movie. The TV series was good in the early seasons. Strangely, the second in this list to star Christopher Lambert...)
7- A Trip to the Moon ( come on...the first Sci-Fi film...ever. Based on Jules Vern's From Earth to the Moon, it was filmed in 1902. Hey, Moon...here's a bullet in yer eye!)
8-MST3K (nuff' said)
9- Space: Above and Beyond (awesome military action... damn you, Fox...)
10- Firefly ( and Serenity...just can't come up with enough good things to say. And again...damn you, Fox.)

Runners-up: Jurassic Park, Iron Man ( 1 and 2), Game of Thrones, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Spider Man 2 and Quantum Leap (this almost displaced Space: Above and Beyond, but got edged out).

Re: Your Top 10 Sci-Fi / Fantasy Movies or Series

Logan said it all - there are simply too many to pick just 10 (kind of like you can't eat just 1 potato chip). I revise my earlier estimate about what it would take to transport each person's favorite Sci-Fi DVDs to a single location for a massive viewing party. A U-Haul would be too small. We'd each need at least a standard moving van for the job not to mention at least a year long viewing party. Of course, if we compared notes about what we were bringing it might decrease the size of the transport vehicles. Where's Scotty to beam all this & us to a central location when we need him?

"live, long and prosper" that ma'am. Too little time for all the great sci-fi.

Re: Your Top 10 Sci-Fi / Fantasy Movies or Series

Hmmn...

(No particular order)
* KRULL (Excellent adventure/quest film, with highly likable characters)
* SPACE 1999
* BSG (original)
* All Mad Max films (Goose, Capt. Fifi, The Toe-Cutter, Kundilini, Mud-Guts, Johnny the Boy, Bubba Zenetti, The Gyro-Captain, Master Blaster, Auntie, The Humungous...GOOD TIMES!)
* BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS! (I highly recommend it, bring a sense of humor and a love of cheekiness)
* Flash Gordon (No one can argue with a soundtrack by QUEEN)
* KnightRiders starring Ed Harris
* DARK STAR (EARLY John Carpenter, very strange)
* ZONE TROOPERS (Aliens, glory, and Hitler punched in the face! Aww yeah!)
* TRANCERS (All of them, the Adventures of Trooper Jack Deth!)
***BONUS MATERIAL!!!***
* Space Hunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone
***Other BONUS***
* one of the worst sci-fi films EVER (yep, worse than "Plan 9" IMHO): "Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared Syn". Absolute drek.
P.S. I left out a LOT. 8)

Re: Your Top 10 Sci-Fi / Fantasy Movies or Series

If your looking for drek, check out Space Mutiny and Solar Crisis. These are sooo bad, you have to watch'em twice to make sure of what you saw :D 8) I'm gonna add these to my list 'cause I do so like crap :shock: .

Re: Your Top 10 Sci-Fi / Fantasy Movies or Series

Oh. If we're gonna mention the drek pile, one MUST mention Ron Pearlman's MUTANT CHRONICLES. I love Ron Pearlman (Ever since ICE PIRATES) but that was time spent that will never return. It will be sorely missed.

And speaking of "forgotten favorites":
* Ice Pirates
* BUCKAROO BANZAI

Nailed it.
