let's take care of our own

*Capt. Deschain walks into the team room looking pleasant and holding a cup of fresh Duncan Hills Coffee and a letter.*

"Hey guys, listen up for just a moment please. I've just received a letter from our very own Carl Bennett. As you know, he is currently away for avanced training. I just thought that I'd remind everyone to send him a letter to keep his spirits up and let him know that his team is behind him 100%.

I'll leave the envelope here on the table for a bit so that everyone can get the address. Let's let Carl know that he's remembered, eh? Thanks, and I return you to your program, already in progress."

He places the envelope and leaves, sipping his coffee and humming.

CARL'S ADDRESS at BASIC:

SPC Bennett, Leonard C
CCo 1-48 INF BN 1st PLT
495 Iowa Ave Unit#33
Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri 65473

NOTE: On the back of the envelope, in the center, write the number 1 with a circle around it. It helps when they sort through it to make sure it goes to the right platoon.

And in all seriousness, those of you who have been to Boot/Basic know how important it is to get mail and know that you're remembered, missed and supported. Those of you who haven't, please take the word of those who have.
Thanks.

I now return you to your program, already in progress.

Thanks for the info, Gideon!

I'm going to write and give him a hard time because, that's what I do. :)

Couldn't Agree more

Gideon,
Your comments were right on concerning the need to receive letters from home. They provide a much needed boast to morale.

BTW, his address had already been posted under Carl's thread Going.......Going......GONE.

Take care.
