Col. Charles Fannon graduated from Sheridan College in 1985, with a major in Political Science. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant from Officer Training School in July 1986. Since then he has commanded with distinction at the platoon and battalion level, including previous tours of duty with the Canadian Peace Keeping Forces. Upon the discovery that Col. Fannon possessed the ATA gene, he was debriefed on Stargate Command and offered a transfer of duty stations. He is currently assigned to SG-SOCOM as commanding officer of SG-TRU, the only foreign commander of a US SG Team. He has promoted the idea of inter-service transfers and foreign personnel exchanges for duty and training purposes within the SGC and SG-SOCOM. Thus, allowing fellow Canadian personnel to join SG-TRU, earning it the unofficial nickname of  "Canada's Tactical Response Unit".

Being half Native, Col. Fannon follows the Ojibwa beliefs, which have been recently tested upon the discovery that he possesses an alien gene.

Joined the Canadian Armed Forces 1979 as a light infantryman, field radio comm operator and small/light weapons. Served overseas in Croatia and Somalia with the Canadian Peace Keeping Forces for over 14 years, from 1986 to 2000, as well as, in Afghanistan from April 2002 to Aug 2004. Was appointed as a team member within SG-SOCOM's Off-World Operations from Oct 2004 to May 2007. Which led to several promotions, and eventually to taking command of SG-TRU in July 2007.

Education:

  • Bachelor's & Doctorate degree in political science's at Sheridan College Oakville, Ont, Canada.
  • Bachelor's degree in various First Nations native studies at Trent University in Peterborough, Ont. Canada.
  • Basic course on first contact protocol, CFB Bordon, Canada.
  • Bachelor's degree in Canadian and United States History at Historic Fort York, Toronto. Ont. Canada.

His qualifications also include Canadian Army Special Forces training. He also maintains Expert rating on all NATO small arms, as well as all current known weapons technologies obtained through Project: STARGATE.
