Born in the United States to first generation Russian immigrants, individual had early exposure to advanced engineering projects as parents were senior engineers with NASA's various X-plane projects at Area 51. Individual is fluent in English, Russian, Ukrainian, Hebrew and Ancient Egyptian. Individual's family origins being from FSU, as well as, great aunt living in Israel initially flagged her as a security risk.

However special consideration was given and individual entered the USAF Academy, 5 September 1990. Graduated with honors in 1994 and completed Masters in Thermal Dynamics Engineering at MIT in December 1996. Initial Aptitude Test scores were high across the board and by January 1997, was assigned to the UPT. Exceptional aptitude was also shown for aeronautics and flying and by 1999 was reassigned to Area 51.

Responsible for advanced propulsion system engineering to include the tandem fan system found on the Joint Strike Fighter. Individual served as Project Manager and liaison to Colson Aviation, as such worked for nearly two years on the multi engine control systems for the X-302 and later F-302 without knowing the full design scope.

Upon learning of the successful test flights of the X-302, individual was granted "Special Access Program" clearance for the entire X-301/302 and BC-303 projects.

Transferred to Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, individual resumed flight status with one goal in mind... Accepting a slot in the 416th TFS and placing 2nd in 2004's Blue Flag exercises, individual was selected to be part of the 10th SFS a newly activated squadron of F-302s thus achieving her previous goal. Having previously met the 10th SFS' CO, individual was put through the meat grinder before being offered the position as squadron's XO in 2006. Promoted to rank of Captain, individual then applied for the Special Operations program to fully become a member of the Stargate - Special Operations Command. Qualified as a propulsion systems engineer, pilot and Special Ops, individual represents a unique blend of raw talent, which has been honed to a razors edge, for which Rodney McKay can attest.

Captain Larina remains on active Flight Status as the XO of the 10th SFS Tau'ri Furies. She maintains her currency on a wide variety of Aircraft/Spacecraft types. Her qualifications also include USAF Special Forces training. She also maintains Expert rating on all NATO small arms, as well as all current known weapons technologies obtained through Project: STARGATE.
